What: ACT’s fourth annual 5K, The Gobbler. Runners and walkers welcome! All money raised will benefit ACT’s scholarship for international service-learning named after late ASU student, Leigh Lane Edwards (read more by clicking the “About” tab). The second organization that The Gobbler will be benefiting is Hunger and Health Coalition.
When: The race will begin at 8:00am on November 15, 2014. Day-of registration will begin at 7:00am. Once the race is completed, wipe your sweat away and enjoy fresh, warm cobbler on Duck Pond Field! **Note: Please note that participants are not guaranteed a race t-shirt if registering after Saturday, November 1, 2014. Pre-registration for the race will end at 2pm on Friday, November 14. All those interested in running the race after that time must register the day of the event.
Where: The Gobbler will begin and end at Duck Pond Field on Stadium Drive, on the campus of Appalachian State University in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina. Since there is not a home football game that weekend there will be parking available in the stadium lot and all of campus. Prizes will be awarded after the race. As The Gobbler has grown tremendously from year-to-year, we anticipate more runners than ever this year. Due to this growth, this year The Gobbler will be working with Blue Mountain Revival Services to help make this event a success. Each participant will be equipped with a disposable timing chip which will provide real-time, accurate data to runners. Questions can be directed to Melissa Lee, she can be contacted by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
