What: ACT’s third annual 5K, The Gobbler. Runners and walkers welcome! All money raised will benefit ACT’s scholarship for international service-learning named after late ASU student, Leigh Lane Edwards (read more by clicking the “About” tab). In addition, our second beneficiary will be F.A.R.M Café.
When: The race will begin at 8:00am on November 16, 2013.
Day-of registration will begin at 7:00am. Once the race is completed, wipe your sweat away and enjoy fresh, warm cobbler on Duck Pond Field!
**Note: Please note that participants are not guaranteed a race t-shirt if registering after Tuesday, November 1, 2013. Pre-registration for the race will end at 2pm on Friday, November 15. All those interested in running the race after that time must register the day of the event.
Where: The Gobbler will begin and end at Duck Pond Field on Stadium Drive, on the campus of Appalachian State University in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina. Our football team will be playing an away game against Wofford, which means plenty of parking will be available at the Stadium Drive Lot.
Prizes will be awarded after the race.
What’s new this year? As The Gobbler has grown tremendously from year-to-year, we anticipate more runners than ever this year. Due to this growth, this year The Gobbler will be working with Blue Mountain Revival Services to help make this event a success. Each participant will be equipped with a disposable timing chip which will provide real-time, accurate data to runners.
